Eric’s Playtime # 18 – The Day I wrote “Fishin’ For a Hook” January, 31st 2021

Almost Released Songs
Fishin’ For a Hook has been produced and recorded in Nashville with some of the best players and can be heard on my website: MusicofEricWise.com.

Here I am playing my Nashville tuned guitar. This is where the 4 strings with the low notes are tuned to be one octave higher. This makes for a “chimey” sound. Imagine just the “high” strings from a set of 12-string guitar strings. This was the day I wrote the music for what would become my song “Fishin’ for a Hook“.

The lyrics came quickly once I had the title – Fishin’ For a Hook – of course it is about a songwriter going fishing to find a “hook” for a song. And we all know that fishing is about thinking more than fish. To find a good hook requires that you dive down deep and search for something just out of reach. Throw in “Grab me some PBRs” and you’ve got yourself a country song. LOL

I have a Facebook page for my music as well as a YouTube Channel. I have released songs to virtually all streaming services under the band name Wise Inspirations. And of course I have this website.
